Vatican and Museum Rules for Dogs

Most of Rome's major tourist attractions do not allow dogs inside. **Not Dog-Friendly:** Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, Colosseum interior, Borghese Gallery, Palatine Hill, major churches. **Alternatives:** Visit exteriors and piazzas with your dog. Have one person wait outside while other visits. **St. Peter's Square:** Dogs allowed in the piazza but not inside the basilica. **Colosseum Area:** Walk around the exterior. The Forum from the roadside is visible. **Dog-Friendly Sites:** Roman Forum viewed from Via dei Fori Imperiali, Appian Way, most parks, most piazzas.
